EytanArt decorates halls of Autism Center

A new Autism Center just opened at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT.  The hospital along with Joy of Art chose to purchase Eytan’s artwork to decorate their hallway.  We attended the opening ceremony and Eytan brought his keyboard to play music for the 100+ professionals who came to learn more about the center and how it will service the community.  The center provides a variety of diagnostic, assessment and consulting services for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The Hospital for Special Care has been nationally recognized for the advanced care and rehabilitation in highly-specialized areas that include plumonary care, acquired brain injury, medically-complex pediatrics, neuromuscular disorders (such as ALS) and spinal cord injury.  They have now added Autism to their list of specialties.  The Autism Center’s Director is Dr. John Molteni.

The administrators from HSC who had the vision and then made this project happen are Lynn Ricci and Sheldon Bustow.  The beautifying of the Center was under the loving care of Susan Gates and the Joy of Art who believe strongly that art has a healing quality that should be part of every hospital and therapy environment.

We were so thankful to the warmth and support we received from everyone at the Hospital for Special Care.  Although they had not met Eytan until the opening, they were fans of his from seeing his artwork on t-shirts, note-cards and posters at our EytanArt booth at the Autism Conference last year.  Sheldon and Lynn held onto our information and then contacted me a few months ago to inquire about purchasing artwork for their new Autism Center. It was so nice for them to finally meet Eytan in person and for us to see EytanArt bringing so much life and joy to the hallway of this center.

A pediatric neurologist who attended the opening left with our Give and Get REAL Posters Plus set which includes 6 posters (12 x 18) to decorate her office.  We hope that other hospitals, doctors offices, therapy centers will also decorate their offices with posters from EytanArt!

EytanArt is making a donation to Joy of Art for the work they do in bringing art into the healing and therapeutic environment.
